Flexible Premises and a Convenient Location Are Key for a Growing Testing Company

OiTec Oy, a specialist in testing and test automation, selected new premises near Tampere that support the company’s growth and meet its practical day-to-day needs. The location, free customer parking and the option to expand the premises as required were among the main reasons for the move.

OiTec Oy is one of the Nordic region’s leading specialists in testing and test automation. Founded in 2013, the company has grown steadily throughout its history of more than ten years and now employs over 90 experts. OiTec has offices in Kirkkonummi, Tampere, Vaasa and Oulu.

The Tampere office recently moved into new premises provided by Fokus Nordic after the company’s growth meant that its previous office was becoming too small.

“Our Tampere office is growing steadily, with both our workforce and operations expanding. We needed more space to support our various activities while also accommodating future growth,” says Henry Kyllönen, Head of the Tampere Office.

Space for Growth and a Range of Activities

The Tampere office currently has around ten employees. Their work includes projects and equipment sales, among other activities.

When choosing the new premises, it was therefore important to find a space that could be expanded later as the company’s needs evolved.

“We are still a relatively small team, but we are growing steadily. We wanted premises that could accommodate our ongoing growth and be expanded as our needs changed,” Henry explains.

This flexibility proved valuable soon after the move, as the company’s need for space increased rapidly. Although OiTec has only recently moved in, its premises have already been expanded.

“It is a major advantage to have a flexible landlord. We were able to secure additional space very quickly.”

Accessibility Makes Daily Work and Customer Visits Easier

The location of the new premises was an important selection criterion. The office needed to be easy to reach for both employees and customers, but it did not have to be located in the very centre of Tampere.

“The location is excellent for us. It is also easy for customers travelling from the Helsinki metropolitan area to reach us, so the accessibility benefits both our daily operations and our work with customers.”

Parking also played an important role in ensuring that the premises would work well in practice. Customer parking at the previous location was subject to a fee, whereas the new premises offer free customer parking.

“That was one of our main criteria. As customers regularly visit us, it is important that parking is straightforward and convenient.”

Practical Premises Support a Technical Business

In addition to conventional office space, a testing company needs room for measuring equipment and instruments. OiTec stores valuable testing instruments, making suitable storage facilities an important part of the overall solution.

The building’s lift also makes day-to-day work and the movement of goods easier, as instruments and other materials are delivered to the company every week.

“It was essential for us to have suitable facilities for storing our equipment and instruments.”

A Smooth Leasing Process

OiTec was very pleased with the leasing process with Fokus Nordic. From the initial viewings to the draft agreement and final signature, the process moved forward quickly and clearly.

“The leasing process was very straightforward and pleasant. Everything progressed quickly, we received the draft agreement for review, and the necessary amendments were made without difficulty. The entire process was extremely clear.”

The cooperation has remained easy since the move.

“The landlord has been very flexible. Whenever we have had questions, they have been addressed promptly. We have not had to spend our own time following up on matters.”

The First Steps in the New Premises

OiTec Oy has only operated from the new premises since the beginning of July, so its experience of the space is still recent. However, the first impressions have been positive, and the employees have settled in well.

It is important that the premises not only meet the company’s current day-to-day needs but also support its future requirements.

“We now have room to expand, which is extremely important to us. We have only been here for a short time, but everything has got off to a good start,” Henry says.
